St. Andrew's Episcopal Church
Our 10:00 AM Sunday service features a lively yet traditional Anglican Communion approach to
worship. We are enlivened by the richness of the worldwide Anglican Communion as most of our
congregation has immigrated from Africa and the Caribbean Islands. We love to sing the
traditional hymns while sharing a mystical reverence for the presence of the risen Jesus in the Rite
II Holy Communion service from the Book of Common Prayer.
The healing ministry at St. Andrew’s continues to grow. Every Sunday about 25 to 30 people
receive the sacrament of Holy Unction immediately after the conclusion of Sunday worship.
You are urged to make use of this sacrament for healing of physical, mental, emotional or
spiritual problems. You are also invited to receive this sacrament on behalf of another person
who needs God’s healing. Holy Unction is making the sign of the cross on the forehead using
holy oil accompanied by a suitable prayer for healing. This act is based on the book of James in
Holy Scripture, chapter 5, verses 13-15, which says, “Is anyone among you in trouble? He
should pray. Is anyone happy? He should sing praises. Is there anyone who is sick? He should
send for the church elders, who will pray for him and rub olive oil on him in the name of the
Lord. This prayer made in faith will heal the sick person; the Lord will restore him to health.”
The ministry is provided by Fr. Roger and Fr. Ed with assistance from various members of the
church.

Evening Prayer, Holy Communion, Healing, and Hymn singing are offered to you every
Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM. Fr. Ed and Fr. Roger celebrate Holy Communion and offers
Holy Unction for those who need healing. You and your family and friends are cordially invited
to attend this 45-minute service.
